My CA journey started all the way back in 2013. I was a grade 9 student and had just completed my aptitude tests to determine which subjects I should take from grade 10 to 12 to finish off my high school journey. The psychologist doing the tests explained that accounting was the way to go, and immediately my dream of becoming a CA(SA) started.

After high school I embarked on my seven-year CA journey at the University of Stellenbosch. I completed my undergraduate studies cum laude in 2019 and obtained my honours degree in 2020. I obtained experience in the academic industry by completing my first year of articles at the University of Stellenbosch where I lectured financial accounting and taxation, and participated in an academic research project which has since been published in the Journal of Economic and Financial Sciences.

I went on to complete my articles at a Big Four auditing firm where I worked on various listed clients and gained invaluable experience in the financial services space. I am currently still working full-time in the auditing sector where I am servicing various clients to help them achieve their financial reporting requirements and ensuring that they deliver high quality financial statements.
